He is one of the real thinkers in music, helping to define what music really is. I don't think I could just sit and listen to all his music for hours, but I don't think that's a bad thing, he provokes thought into our own perceptions and breaks boundaries that were before ingrained into our unconscious. He takes supposed truths turns them on their ear and makes us take it.
Nine out of ten people resist the change, they might try to ignore it but its too late ...
You can't un-ring a bell.
The other one out of ten will look at it, examine it and see what usefulness it might have and enjoy the liberation of 'sound' as music.
Guys like me see how they can implement it in their own work without just stealing it outright.
I like that bell and all the ideas that come from it.
